Nov 5, 2026 | Announcements, News

Research presented at the ACTEC Foundation-supported symposium The Law and Economics of Wealth Management and Transmission is now available in the George Mason Law Review, extending the impact of the September 26, 2025, academic gathering at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School.

The symposium brought together leading legal scholars and practitioners to examine the intersection of law, economics, and wealth transfer. With support from the ACTEC Foundation, the event explored topics including charitable endowments, long-term care, intergenerational wealth, and trust law.

The published articles address a range of issues relevant to trust and estate professionals, including:

  • Trust Law: Economic perspectives on donative freedom, trust structures, and judicial oversight.
  • Intergenerational Wealth: The legal and economic implications of dynastic wealth and wealth transfers.
  • Retirement and Aging: The relationship between annuities, demographic trends, and wealth transmission.

The research appears in Volume 33, Issue 2 of the George Mason Law Review, providing an opportunity for legal professionals, academics, and students to explore the scholarship presented at the symposium.

Supporting academic research and encouraging collaboration between scholars and practitioners are central to the ACTEC Foundation’s mission. The publication of these articles helps extend the value of the symposium beyond the event itself by making its insights accessible to a broader audience.
