Round 1 Results

(As of May 1 at 5:00 pm ET)

The 2024 ACTEC Foundation Longest Drive Challenge opened last week. Eight golfers, each representing an ACTEC region, are on the links and have raised over $9,250 to benefit The ACTEC Foundation!

The Winner of Round One is:
Dana “Fitzy” Fitzsimons

Fitzy raised $4,450 in Round 1 and set a new record for the Foundation Spring Fundraiser—he is the first player to reach the individual fundraising goal in week one!

Fitzy channeled his inner Sepp Straka, former University of Georgia Golfer, to “Ace” Round 1 for the Southeast Region. Sepp Straka aced the 12th hole at Augusta National (pictured above) during the 2023 Masters Tournament. Straka’s hole-in-one on the 12th hole at Augusta in 2023 was a moment of sheer brilliance and precision. The 12th hole is one of the most iconic and challenging par 3s in golf, characterized by its picturesque setting and treacherous water hazard guarding the green. Achieving a hole-in-one at Augusta National is an extraordinary feat due to the course’s rich legacy and the pressure-cooker atmosphere of the Masters Tournament.

Congratulations, Fitzy, on your hole-in-one!

Southeast Region: Dana “Fitzy” Fitzsimons
