The L. Henry Gissel, Jr. Race of the Yearlings – April 2 Update
And they’re off! The L. Henry Gissel, Jr. Race of the Yearlings kicked off yesterday, April 1, with five stellar jockeys! This year’s Spring Derby lineup includes new ACTEC Foundation Board members Lora G. Davis, Charlie I. Nash, Benetta Y. Park, Bruce S. Ross and Alan F. Rothschild, Jr.
Each jockey has set a goal of raising $2,200 to support the ACTEC Foundation’s mission to promote scholarship and education in trust, estate, tax and related areas of the law. Please visit the race donation page to support your favorite Yearling today!
Horses will advance one yard of the 1.25-mile-long track for every dollar donated. Place your donation to advance your thoroughbred into the lead.
Be sure to check the Derby Leaderboard every Wednesday and Friday to cheer on your favorite horse and rider. Follow the Foundation Facebook page for updates. As of this afternoon at 2:00 pm, Lora Davis, riding The Patriot Gissel, is in the lead with $1,300 raised and Bruce Ross, riding ACTECrox is in second place.
